The Steinway model K 52-inch upright piano I bought new in
January 1985. Although I'd rather have a grand piano for the
sake of the action, I have no room in my tiny house for one, not
to mention income to buy one. The model K has more soundboard
area than the two smallest Steinway grands. One would have to go
to a model L to get more.
I've tuned and maintained this most of the time myself since I
bought it, and have kept it in top condition.
Steinway does a beautiful job on the inside of the piano, not
just the cabinet. For that matter, the back of the instrument is
attractively finished, even though it's designed to sit against
