I'm sitting in front of my bank of bass amplifier equipment in our Mott Street loft, on top of a bass drum case. There wasn't a single chair or stool in the place, except whatever Tom sat on to play the organ.

That bass, which was an Epiphone, was stolen when our loft was robbed some months later. Fortunately, I still had my $25 Danelectro, but eventually replaced it with an excellent Gibson EB-3, which I still have.
