James Bonnett-Castillo and Aki Inoue finish

Back Top Forward

Runners are now coming in for their last laps. James crosses accompanied by his justly proud father.

In the foreground on the right is Aki Inoue from Japan, who won the 48-hour race with 204.80 miles, more than any of the 72-hour runners! Aki ran a spectacular first day, burned out in the heat and took it easy during the daylight hours the second day, then regained his momentum through the night.

Cyra-Lea is standing inside the flags because she is about to assist with holding up a finishing tape, as seen in the next slides.
