After a break of fifteen or twenty minutes, those who stuck around assembled for the presentation of awards. There were few enough people in the race that Paul was able to introduce each one, or at least mention those who had already left, a nice touch in a race like this, especially since Paul knows so many of the runners so well and kept such close track of the struggles of so many of us during the race.
It was a long speech. 
Last year I was so whipped and beblistered at the end of the 24-hour race I couldn't get out of my chair, so I sent Cyra-Lea up to get my trophy. This time I felt just fine, and was even able to help my generous crew tear things down and pack them away while waiting for the awards to start.
