Across the Years Slide Show

Luciano Prado dos Santos

Back Top Forward

The winner of the 48-hour men's race was Luciano Prado dos Santos. I believe this man must be part animal. He finished with the incredible total of 226.93 miles, which is a South American record.

Second place went to Andre Alanon Vasquez, who finished only 4.97 miles behind dos Santos. Andre was at Across the Years last year, too, and was responsible for organizing the delegation of Brazilian runners, who added immense value to this event.

To the right, in the background, is 6-day runner Eric Robinson, who finished fifth with 306.00 miles. That was very good. Not meaning to belittle that achievement, but when you consider that dos Santos ran three quarters of that distance in one third the time, it makes the magnitude of his achievement stand out even more.
